John Earl's Boogieman Band
"A get down and dance your butt off Boogie & Blues band that does everything 'ON-THE-MONEY' from their own saucy originals to hot renditions of Delta & Chicago Blues Classics ....and they do it like no other."

Laughlin Entertainer:
I have had the pleasure of being able to listen to John Earl's Boogieman Band over the past decade through their numerous appearances in Laughlin, Nevada during the annual 'Laughlin River Run'.
The band is under the leadership of John Earl who has always put together a collection of some of the best Blues players in Las Vegas and Southern California to perform as his Boogiemen, but it is Earl's distinctive lead vocals, delivered with passion and a gritty, sweat dripping style and his accompanying soulful harp playing- that is the calling card of the Boogieman Band.........
RWB RACING CA. (Organizer):
I have been organizing events for the past 15 years. One of my favorite events “Chili, Bikes and Blues” has been going on at the Avi Resort and Casino in Laughlin Nevada for the past 13 years. Of all the bands I have worked with at CBB I have to say that by far John Earl and the Boogieman Band is the very best. They have been working with me for the past 9 years and if I have my way many more to come.
With their gritty style of hard-hitting blues John captures the crowd and gets the party going right now! He is able to play to a vast array of people from Grandmas to Bikers to Bankers and make sure everyone is having a good time, dancing, smiling, tapping their feet or just singing along with the band.
If you want a good time at your next event I would highly recommend “John Earl and the Boogieman Band”.

Bikes & Blues Mix Well
The Edgewater recently booked bluesman John Earl and his BoogieMan Band into their Kokopelli¹s Showroom and soon realized that a need was being filled. Like most any musical form, blues has its aficionados and loyalists‹but these fans also like to party a tad more than most. If you hang a blues shingle over your business, they will come.
So...
The Colorado Belle, the sister property of the Edgewater, is tapping into that blues vein by presenting ³River Blues Live at the Colorado Belle² featuring‹you got it‹John Earl and the BoogieMan Band on Friday and Saturday, October 17-18. The music will flow from the outdoor stage set up on the Riverwalk at the north end of the Colorado Belle from 6 p.m. There is no charge to attend. Beer and other beverages will be available for sale at the Riverwalk Bar near the stage area.
From its rural roots in the Mississippi Delta and original stars like Robert Johnson and Charles Patton, blues has done some travelin¹ over the years. From north to Chicago with the black migration of the late 1930s and guys like Muddy Waters leading the train; to east to England in the early 60's to unlikely devotees in Liverpool like the Rolling Stones (whose name comes from a Muddy Waters lyric) and the Yardbirds with Eric Clapton.
It has also traveled to Texas and South Carolina where it has fused with Southern rock sounds and an image that is connected with motorcycle rides and a touch of the outlaw. Thus, the original blues that was born through the talents of outcasts, continues those threads‹however tenuous‹in a rebel vein. And ironically, as it did in the beginning, the blues is music that actually picks you up, because when you hear it, you realize you aren't alone in facing demons like the boss man and love gone wrong.
One of the practitioners of today's rock/blues is John Earl Williams. John Earl, as he is known, is the guy most responsible for creating any semblance of a blues scene in Laughlin due to his involvement with the ³Blues and Brews Festivals at the Colorado Belle and the annual Laughlin River Run. Before John Earl came to town, most of the powers that be didn't think there was much of a market here for the music. When he was given the chance, he more than proved them wrong.
John Earl had already established himself as a blues standout in Las Vegas beginning in the mid ¹80's. After three years of manual labor in the desert heat, he quit his Las Vegas construction job and formed The BoogieMan Band. He decided it was time to go back to his roots and do what he knew best.
A native West Texas honky-tank singer, Williams brought over three decades of wailing Texas blues and country rock to the stage. He assembled a handful of seasoned blues veterans and took to the Vegas venues. Within a few weeks of their start they were invited to open for 'John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers', followed by a concert with 'The Master of the Telecaster' Albert Collins and an opening act spot with John Lee Hooker 5 times in as many years!
"Since we've been here in Vegas we've played with almost everybody, I'm not exaggerating," states John Earl of his BoogieMan Band. "We've opened for so many great acts. We're lucky to have been able to do that‹especially with a lot of the old guys before they passed on. We like to think we keep getting invited back because of tenacity and a little talent at least, we hope that's the case."
Earl has experience in watching the blues scene unfold, both in southern Nevada and across the country.
"It's great to see young musicians carrying on the style, keeping it alive, he explains. "Some of the guys out there making noise are Jonny Lang, Dave Hole from Australia and A.G. Weinberger out of Transylvania, of all places. You gotta hear his CD 'Nashville Callin' to see what I mean."
Speaking of CDs, John Earl and the BoogieMan Band have a few of their own available for sale at any of his shows. These include Papa (1992); Hawgs in Heat (1995), Burnin¹ Da Joint (1998), Bound to Boogie 'Live Millennium New Year's Eve Party' in Las Vegas (2000), Las Vegas 24/7 (2000), and Ribbin¹ & Blues (2002) and his latest recorded Live in Laughlin 'Gettin' it Wet' featuring an appearance by guest artist and blues Stand-out Michael Burks.
Those who head to the Riverwalk at the Colorado Belle this weekend will hear blues delivered in the driving style of the Boogieman Band with John Earl, front and center, harmonica at the ready and gravelly voice begging you to "Dump That Chump" and tellin¹ you how he¹s "Crazy 'bout My Baby's Lovin".
