THE WEST COAST BLUES CONSPIRACY is the latest Las Vegas-based band specializing in authentic “greasy-dirty-filthy” blues music mixed with generous portions of classic and blues-based rock. The driving force behind this band is the love of blues music and the desire to bring fresh, foot stompin’ party music to the neighborhood. It is our desire to bring fresh material to you in a format that pleases even the most discerning. We encourage audience participation! THE CONSPIRATORS MARK MEDINA, Guitar, Slide Guitar and Vocals: Mark was born and raised in California and moved to Las Vegas in 1976. Mark’s love for the blues goes back to age 12 when his parents introduced him to blues artists like Bessie Smith and BB King. His parents also thought it was a good idea to give him guitar lessons to “stay out of trouble” while they worked double shifts and weekends. They never thought he’d take the instrument so seriously nor did they think he’d be fascinated with the blues. Mark admits to liking all kinds of music but his love lies with the blues. Mark has played locally with John Earl’s Boogieman Band and opened for John Lee Hooker, John Mayall, Albert Collins, Michael Burkes, and Commander Cody and the Lost Planet Airmen. DAVID HOLT, Drums and Vocals: David is a gifted percussionist and is one of the most sought after musicians in the Las Vegas Valley. David has toured and recorded with many renowned artists including Lyle Lovett. He plays every style of music with ease – the mark of a truly gifted professional. Dave keeps the beat pumpin’ all night long. ADRIAN BARRIOS, Electric Bass: Adrian is a seasoned veteran who has played with many renown blues artists including John Lee Hooker. He is the real deal. Adrian has recently joined the group where he has quickly received the nickname "Doctor Pocket!" He is truly the bassist that WCBC has been looking for over a year now! WCBC is proud to have Mr. Barrios as its permanent member. MARK FOSTER, Hammond B3, Piano and Vocals: Mark is a recent arrival to Las Vegas. Classically trained, Mark has performed in many venues including church organist at his dad’s church at the tender age of six! His musical career has made him a world traveler and a seasoned performer who has performed with Tanya Tucker, Bonnie Bramlett, Kevin Costner, Sam and Dave to name a few. In addition to Mark’s bluesy keyboard skills, his impeccable vocal talent is testimony to his love for the blues. Mark is one of the few who can make the Hammond B3 come alive. He can make it sing, cry, and growl – precisely what the blues is all about!
